Working at The Boom is so cool, because we are constantly transforming people. Case in point above, the above lovely lady came in with some grey hair in her brows, not much of an arch, sparse areas and no real shape. We couldn’t wait to get our hands on her – and she needed rehab! First order of business was the shaping, get rid of the stragglers and create a beautiful arch to frame the eye. Then, a tint to fill in sparse areas, thicken the appearance and define the shape. Is it us or does she look 10 years younger? YES, she does…that is what a good professional eyebrow shaping can do you for, literally make you YOUNGER!
The lack of arch in the before image does not frame her eye properly, in fact, it actually makes it look tired and directs the eye downward. The new arch takes the eye up, frames the eye and gives lift. The tint is also crucial, gotta get rid of that grey.
- Do NOT pluck a grey eyebrow hair – constant plucking will create thin sparse brows, if it grows too long, trim it.
- Get a tint – grey hair does not have pigment, it’s coarse and resilient, so it will not respond to a vegetable dye the same way the other hairs do, dye will create a veil of color over the greys, so if there are not too many grey hairs, this is a good option. It’s like using a semi or demi permanent color on hair; it will wear away naturally, but faster on the greys hairs.
- Do NOT have a colorist use a permanent color, when the hair grows in there will be a demarcation line that will look strange.
- Use Boom Boom Boostiers brow powder to add pigment to brows and camouflage the grey hair, it can be set with Boom Boom Boom Brow-ssiere brow gel for ultimate coverage.
There you have it – look younger without using Botox!
